After a successful career in Hotel Events, Catering and Convention Services with Hyatt, Hilton and Omni Hotels I represented Orlando and Central Florida at Visit Orlando as Director of Destination Services and was proud to showcase America’s premier convention and travel destination.

Having been idled due to the pandemic I decided to use the extra time to piece together fictional stories that included a few real episodes from my career.

In 2022 I wrote and self-published my first book “INVOLUNTARY TERMINATION.” The book features a man named Rick Claymore, who like me, who served in the US Army then found himself working in a hotel while going to college in New Orleans. His talents are quickly recognized, and he is promoted to a management position. He soon discovers a criminal enterprise operating within the hotel where sex and drugs are used to entice customers to book events.

A sequel finds Rick moving up the ladder, first promoted to General Manager of a hotel in Austin, then moving on to assume a similar role at an exclusive boutique property in Chicago. This book, published in 2023, is titled “DOMINATION” and chronicles a true-to-life story of a gang member who kidnaps, rapes, and brutalizes his ex-girlfriend. The man is arrested, goes on trial and Rick is chosen as the jury foreman. The gang leader is upset about the conviction of one of his trusted soldiers and vows retribution.

This year my third book comes out titled “UNDERCURRENT.” It finds Rick promoted to Vice President and being transferred to Orlando to assume the role of Managing Director of a new hotel connected to a theme park. One of the criminals from New Orleans who went to jail is released after fifteen years and decides to get even with Rick. At the same time a group of hate filled militia members plan to attack the theme park during a “Diversity Days” celebration and the hotel is ground zero for the attack.

I was a bartender in a mid-70’s disco at a place called “SOMETHING ELSE.” That could be a fun book.

I also started a blog titled “WHITE BREAD IN A WHOLE WHEAT WORLD.” But I’ve made so many mistakes in my life I’m not sure I want to tell the whole story and embarrass myself and others with the truth.
